dear mr. speaker,
did you realize when you became speaker of the house
that you were inevitably making the lives of government teachers
throughout the united states more difficult?
i'm trying my very best to educate the rising generation here.
and your name is causing some issues.
here's how it usually goes:
when i reach the part of my lecture where
i explain how leadership works in the house of representatives i say...
"...our current speaker of the house is John Boehner.**giggles, giggles**
Before the 2010 election Nancy Pel-..."
by this point the laughter is widespread.
students have realized what is so hilarious about mr. boehner's last name.
the lecture has stopped.
i tell my brilliant (however immature) students to get it all out of their system
and yes...it is a very funny name.
then we all take a deep breath, and continue:
"the speaker of the house is chosen by a caucus of-"
BAM
all out hysterical laughter of 38 seventeen year-olds.
just wondered if you realized when you entered politics that this would be the scenario in every u.s. government & citizenship class throughout the country upon your election as speaker.
thanks again,
mrs. perry
HAHAHAH (see, I'm just as immature as those 17 year olds :)
ReplyDeleteHe really should have changed his name before going into politics.
