it's time again for...bren's blog book review!

title: water for elephants

changed my life scale: no life changes...unless you count briefly considering joining the circus

recommend: yes!

i think i'll just start with; i liked this book. it took me a little under a week to finish it and i enjoyed every minute of it. it's definitely a quick & easy read and it is very entertaining. it might not change your life, unless you realize your dream is to become a kinker (that's slang for circus performer), but it is engrossing all the same. i liked getting a glimpse into the gritty and unpredictable lives of the characters involved with the benzini brothers most spectacular show on earth, but far and away the best part of this book is rosie the elephant. seriously, she stole the show. this book has everything needed to be a page-turner: a tragic car accident, moonshine, pink sequins, a monkey named bobo, a paranoid schizophrenic antagonist, an unplanned pregnancy, a flying squadron, and awesome circus lingo you can incorporate into your daily life. i think you should read it.

final recommendation: 90% read it. i laughed, i cried, i wished i owned an elephant.

next up: the ruins of california by martha sherrill (because, well, i miss my california home)
